What you’ll do

As the Growth Marketing Director, you’ll make sure the b2b marketing funnel is strong, growing, and predictable to ultimately hit our aggressive subscription revenue (ARR) targets. Historically we have been ~80% inbound and marketing and product-led growth are central to our buying motion. At the same time we’ve had a sales assisted model from the beginning, so strong knowledge and experience across both high scale growth marketing channels and high touch, lower scale ABM and revenue marketing strategies are equally at home and important to mastering this role. 

You’ll have ownership over channels like paid/performance/affiliates/referrals, SEO, CRO, much of our website, lifecycle/email and more to acquire and nurture quality leads to drive both self serve and sales assisted revenue. You’ll work closely with both sales and marketing team leads to identify the right strategies and tactics to drive short and long term growth. 

This position reports to the SVP, Marketing & Growth on our fast-growing, fully remote marketing team. To start you’ll lead a team of one, with plans to build the team in the second half of the year. 

Skills & Qualifications

  • 📊  Your data analysis and decision making skills should be second to none. With lots of ambiguity and imperfect context, you should be able to spot trends and form hypotheses on what to do next with relative ease. Note it is not required that you know SQL, python, etc—we have a fantastic embedded data scientist to help with that work—but a passing knowledge does not hurt! Excel skills on the other hand are all but required. 
  • ✍  You should be an expert written and verbal communicator. You need to be able to translate complicated analysis into simple charts and insights. You need to be able to sell your data informed ideas (by the way, we view qualitative data as data too!) and get people excited about them—up, down and all around. 
  • 💰 You have experience executing and/or leading across a variety of growth marketing channels: paid/performance, SEO, CRO, web, email. 
  • 💼  You have b2b and/or SaaS experience. While in many ways b2b and b2c marketing are becoming more similar, this cannot be the first time you’ve worked with leads, pipeline, sales, and recurring revenue. 
  • 📈 You have managed a team of at least 1 full-time, in-house person before. We’re looking for someone who can lead this team confidently (but always with a dose of humility too), starting as more of a player coach, but quickly transitioning into full time coach as we build out the team with more growth marketing specialists. 
  • 🧗 You have a proven track of driving results. While you will learn a lot here and reach new heights for User Interviews and your own career, you should be able to show you have used your skills, influence, growth mindset, ability to work with constraints, etc to achieve notable results in the past. 
  • 🎙 You should have an interest in User Interviews and user research. Work shouldn’t be a slog. You’ll enjoy it more if you have a general interest in our customers and what we do and you’ll be more effective too. 
  • Candidates must have a United States address and be authorized to work without any Visa sponsorship.
