About Syrup

🌍 In a world with deep supply chain disruptions, true omni-channel networks, and sustainability-minded consumers, there is a need for next-generation inventory systems.

🍯 That’s why we’ve built Syrup, an AI-powered predictive software for inventory decisions in commerce. By leveraging more data in real-time, we empower merchandising and planning teams with allocation, ordering, and planning recommendations.

🚀 Our eventual hope is for commerce to no longer be a wasteful industry, as our intelligent platform empowers inventory excellence at every step in the value chain.

👔 We're VC-backed by Google's AI fund (Gradient Ventures), as well as former executives from Adidas, Zalando, ASOS, Reebok, Bonobos, Salesforce, ThredUp, and Stripe. We're working with fast-growing brands such as Faherty, Reformation, and Desigual.

About The Role

Do you like to be first? Join us as our Director of Product Marketing and you’ll be the first member of the marketing team. As such, you’ll get to build and lead our marketing function. As a team of one, you’ll definitely have your hands in a lot of pots, including demandgen, events, PR and enablement, but we’re purposely starting with a product marketing leader because we know that great brands need to tell great stories.

You will own product marketing strategy from ideation to execution, working closely with Syrup’s CEO and COO, as well as our Sales and Product teams. We’re looking for someone with a strong entrepreneurial mindset, who is looking to roll up their sleeves and have real impact from Day 1. We're still a young team so each member plays an integral role in building the foundation of our future.

You Will:

  • Lead our go-to-market programs, from ideation to execution, along all stages of the buyer journey
  • Develop, iterate, and enhance our product positioning and messaging, to be used in both internal and external communications
  • Create powerful content (blogs, case studies, white papers, webinars, etc.) that drive demand generation
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Success to drive engagement of buyers throughout the buying journey
  • Develop a deep understanding of our target personas, including their jobs to be done, pain points, and how they make buying decisions
  • Build thought leadership by understanding the market, developing a point of view, and work cross-functionally to create narratives that cut through the noise.

You Have:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in product marketing or product management
  • High-energy and passionate about developing compelling narratives and finding innovative ways to bring that narrative to life
  • Passion for technology and an ability to speak knowledgeably about retail / apparel / fashion
  • Track record of success leading cross-functional projects
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to craft compelling content for our end user and buyer audiences
  • Adaptability to try new ways of doing things with the ability to learn from failures and move on
  • A commitment to learning
  • Experience working for a high-growth stage startup (ideal but not required)
  • A hunger to win and a stellar attitude
