Who we are:
At Recalc, we make it easy to learn the practical skills professionals need to succeed in their career. We teach high-impact spreadsheet and finance courses which our customers love. Our customers include rapidly growing companies, industry leading organizations, and investment firms. We teach people from every team - HR, marketing, finance, project management, engineering, and more. And we save them time and make them more successful at their job right away.
We also firmly believe in making a difference - we are especially proud of the Recalc Finance Accelerator, a selective program enabling underrepresented students to launch their careers in private equity and alternative investing.
We are a small, energetic, collaborative team excited about helping people reach their potential. We are proud to be bootstrapped. We have ambitious goals around growing the company and our impact, and are excited to meet you.
How you’ll be successful:
You’ll help build Recalc’s marketing function—from building out the growth engine and telling the company’s story to growing a team. You'll be an IC at first and hire contractors and a team as you help us grow. The ideal marketer is a mix of strategic and hands-on and can develop a marketing strategy and execute on it. You have experience at startups and are looking to accelerate your career quickly.
What you’ll do in this role:
- Product Marketing: Gain a deep understanding of our audience, develop our positioning and messaging, and communicate about Recalc’s programs and their benefits to our audience. Develop collateral to support the sales process.
- Growth Marketing: Launch, track, and optimize programs/campaigns across multiple channels to move prospects and customers down the funnel. Efforts will likely include developing email campaigns, referral programs, gifting programs, and partner training programs.
- Content & Community Marketing: Own the content calendar and tell the story of our brand, company, and customers in order to engage prospects, customers, candidates, and partners.
- Brand & Storytelling: Collaborate on the company story and vision with the founding team. Define the brand guidelines and make sure our communications add value to our audience and are on-brand.
- Web Management: You’ll own the website and make updates and write copy as needed and make sure we are continuously improving conversion rate. You’ll own improvements to the web functionality (things like accepting course sign-ups).
- Ops & Analytics: Recalc does not have all of our tools, processes, and workflows built out yet. You will need to help build this out, figure out what works, and test and scale. You will manage the marketing budget, ensure we are operating efficiently, and meeting metrics goals.
What you bring:
- Breadth & depth: Understanding of all areas of marketing, depth in at least two of these areas: product marketing, corporate or content marketing, growth marketing.
- Scrappiness and experimentation mindset: You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting things done. If you don’t know how to do something, you’ll figure it out.
- High-quality bar: You deliver high-quality work, pay close attention to detail, and take ownership.
- Goal-setting: You know how to balance short-term goals and long-term goals, and test and scale initiatives.
- Management: Experience hiring marketing contractors and agencies and managing them effectively.
- Collaborative Approach: You thrive in a team environment and have experience working in cross-functional teams.
